Tamarind is a seasonal fruit; it is a nostalgia for many who can remember their grandmothers sorting out tamarinds and carefully choosing them to go under the stone grinder. We can definitely agree how eagerly we waited for the pickle to reach the plate and mesmerise the palate.
Chintakaya thokku pachadi is an age-old grandma’s recipe made from raw tamarind. We make this pickle with freshly picked, saucy and piquant tamarinds which aren't far too matured or way too fresh.
