Rice is made into a thin batter after washing it numerous times. This thin batter is neatly poured onto a smoldering pot. On top of this thin film-like sheet of rice batter, coarsely ground jaggery along with a little bit of powdered cardamom, mixed well with ghee is spread neatly. On top of this, a layer of neatly chopped pieces of dry fruits is sprinkled. Rolled and put together, Bellam Pootherakulu are made with extreme care, effort and time, given the intense technique that it requires to undergo.
