This sweetmeat, also known as Karachi Halwa or Bombay Halwa, is distinguished by its rich colour, which is usually vibrant brown and resembles the colour of saffron strands. Unlike more well-known halwas like Gajar ka Halwa or Moong Dal ka Halwa, the Karachi Halwa has a gelatinous texture that makes it chewy.

METHOD AND PROCESS INVOLVED IN PREPARATION

We use the cornstarch in this recipe by making a slurry paste of it while mixing them in water. Then we make sugar syrup and we add cornstarch slurry little by little. While mixing them vigorously. While the halwa is being formed we add ghee into it for that aromatic flavour. Once the halwa is ready we transfer to mould and set it to cool and add a good amount of dry fruits to it. These halwa is good and has a chewy taste. Do try them out.
